Resources
The Court intends to make available a growing number of useful and interesting resources about the Supreme Court of Canada. At the moment we offer the following:
1. Dynamic Tools
Current developments allow us to present information in dynamic ways that involve the user and, so, increase the complexity of the data offered.
- Judges Timeline – an interactive timeline that lets you view a chart of the tenure of all judges of the Supreme Court since the beginning.
- Statistical Database – a chart of basic data about the recent decisions of the Supreme Court, letting the user sort and filter the information in various ways.
- Online Bibliography – an ever-growing bibliography of over 700 works on RefWorks enabling the user to search, select references, and formulate bibliographies that suit their needs
2. Books & Monographs
We hope to develop a substantial library of texts pertaining to the Supreme Court that are not available elsewhere on line. If you have a document — book, monograph, article etc — that you are able to offer us for this purpose, please do let us know. At the moment we offer:
- Snell & Vaughan, Supreme Court of Canada: History of the Institution (Toronto: The Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History, 1985)
- Hwong, A Quantitative Exploration of Judicial Decision Making in Canadian Income Tax Cases (Doctoral Dissertation, Osgoode Hall Law School, 2006)
3. Top Court Talk
Top Court talk is a column where correspondents from around the world report on developments at their “top courts.”
